Mike Sawyer doubles up at Lebanon Valley dragway

Mike Sawyer, of Leominster, Mass., walked away with two championships, in Super Gas and Super Street. Sawyer, who won last month at the NHRA SuperNationals, defeated Douglas Marsters, of Canton, Maine, in Super Gas. Both drivers have emerged in line with a reaction time of 0023 seconds, but the end of Sawyer of 9.876 seconds at 158.74 mph was enough for victory in 9858 in a race Marsters double escape. In Super Street, Sawyer met Shawn Fricke Flemming, NJ During the race lead at the start of Sawyer and run at 135.71 mph 10,908 seconds earned him the victory. Zane, Perry Hall, Maryland, drove his '86 Camaro in 11.301 seconds at 116.29 mph against Mahopac Joe DeMarzo and time of his '72 Chevy II, 11.312 seconds at 114.04 mph.In Super Comp, Pennsylvania Steve Martel, of Schaefferstown, Heather Robilotto defeated Albany in the finals in a double escape.
